My brief comment. There are those who might criticize me for putting quotes critical of war amidst photographs showing the toll of war in honor of veterans. But we honor veterans because of what they have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice. If we are not conscious of the awfulness and cost of war, we have little reason to honor those who pay the price. Abraham Lincoln, Robert E. Lee, Dwight D. Eisenhower – each of these war leaders was clearly aware of the heavy cost of war, and it made them better leaders.<\/p>\n
