{"id":212,"date":"2008-01-25T00:16:52","date_gmt":"2008-01-25T05:16:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/2parse.com\/?p=212"},"modified":"2008-01-25T00:16:52","modified_gmt":"2008-01-25T05:16:52","slug":"a-ship-in-need-of-repairs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/2parse.com\/?p=212","title":{"rendered":"A Ship In Need of Repairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[digg-reddit-me]I have heard many times that Barack Obama won&#8217;t change anything; that he has the same policies as Hillary Clinton; that he isn&#8217;t a radical.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s my response:<\/p>\n<p>There are 5 measures I use to evaluate a candidate:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>What they believe is reality, specifically as it affects policy (e.g. Is global climate change substantially effected by human development?)<\/li>\n<li>What changes should be made? (aka, What policies should be adopted in response to the perceived reality?)<\/li>\n<li>How do they want to achieve their changes? (as indicated by their temperament,<br \/>\ntheir campaigns, and to some extent, their policies.)<\/li>\n<li>What role do they see for the government?<\/li>\n<li>What is their character?
