To reform it?  To undermine it?  To create a new system?<br \/>\nSome of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.weeklystandard.com\/Content\/Public\/Articles\/000\/000\/014\/928umtqp.asp\">your allies on the right<\/a> claim that you are seeking to <a href=\"http:\/\/2parse.com\/\/?p=428\">undermine the international system<\/a> &#8211; which they see as constraining American power. Your tone is clearly conciliatory &#8211; enraging your enemies on the right such as Rush Limbaugh. <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.tnr.com\/tnr\/blogs\/the_plank\/archive\/2008\/04\/25\/the-quot-league-of-democracies-quot-conservatism-in-disguise.aspx\">Charles Krauthammer<\/a> described one of the &#8220;hidden agendas&#8221; of your foreign policy as &#8220;killing the UN.&#8221; &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>And a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/id\/136308\">question from George Will<\/a>:<br \/>\n<blockquote><p>You say you are not &#8220;ready to go to war with <span class=\"related\">Iran<\/span>,&#8221; but you also say the &#8220;one thing worse&#8221; than &#8220;exercising the military option&#8221; is &#8220;a nuclear-armed Iran.&#8221; Because strenuous diplomacy has not dented Iran&#8217;s nuclear ambitions, is not a vote for you a vote for war with Iran?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Relating to my previous post evaluating McCain&#8217;s foreign policy as a &#8220;realistic idealist&#8221;, here are two of my remaining questions: Are you seeking to defend the current international system?
